Important emergency notice: if you suspect an acute stroke or another sudden interruption of the blood supply to the brain, every minute counts. Do not wait: call the emergency services straight away on 112. In these cases the patient must be admitted to hospital immediately; outpatient investigation is neither sufficient nor permissible.
